Lower Left Back Pain – What Is Recommended?



Lower left back pain is a frequent cause of back pain. Some ideas for relief of lower-left back pain are to start your normal activities or at least have them to be as close to normal as possible.

Doing normal exercises or things that place stress on the back are not recommended. Some doctors will tell you that sleeping with a pillow between your legs while lying on your side might help. Others say that lying on your back with a pillow under your legs might also help.

No exercises were found that helped pain or strengthen mobility in people with acute back pain. Though, there are exercises that may be useful for people with chronic back pain to help return to work and all other normal activities.

Over The Counter Meds And Stretching Exercises

Some over the counter medications may also help with the pain. Advil and Aleve are just a few types of medications that help with back pain. There are also heating pads, heat rubs, and other topical agents have not been found useful in taking away the pain.

There are some people who were on bed rest suffered a longer recovery period and was not found useful. There are some preferred exercises that have been proven to reduce lower left back pain but not get rid of it.

For starters there is a knee to chest stretch where you lay on your back and bring your knees to your chest while placing your hands behind the knee. There are others that are recommended like back strengthening exercises that can be used to stretch the muscles in the back.

Another option is to go to a chiropractor and see if there is a disc out of place or herniated. If that is the case a chiropractor can find it and move it back into place without surgery and they can also help the pain not come back. There are many treatments and they could be right for you!
