That is why a black woman must always wear a shower cap when taking a shower. Because it takes so much heat to dry the hair it doesn’t need to be washed everyday. A black woman does not like to be caught without an umbrella. Rain is an enemy. Once the hair is wet it has to be dried. It could take up to one hour to dry for some women under a standard salon dryer. Most products that you can buy on the shelf are not created for a black women’s hair. Certain shampoos don’t work because of the course texture. A conditioner must always be used in addition to shampoo so it can be easily combed through. A deep conditioner is a must after each perm.
